Artist Statement
I completed a Foundation Degree in Art and Design at the Banbury School of Art in 2002, having always had a passion for creating. I especially like how art can hold multiple meanings for different people, touch people in very unique and deep ways. I have exhibited annually from 2011 in various locations throughout the UK. My most recent exhibition being July 2019 at The London Art House, Islington.
I have always recognised art making as therapeutic, using it as a calming activity myself for many years. I then began exploring how art can be used to heal, and undertook a Masters Degree to become an Art Psychotherapist. This taught me the power of the arts to unleash the unconscious, enabling exploration of life’s experiences in a safe and contained manner, reaching new levels of understanding and acceptance which traditional talk therapies may not have. I work with clients on issues such as depression, anxiety and relationships, alongside Post Traumatic Stress Disorder with Military Veterans and Serving Police Officers.
