Our Adopted Reindeer Chickpea

Ainetheon Arts Ltd are delighted to announce that we have adopted a reindeer from the Cairngorm Reindeer Centre in Aviemore. Her name is Chickpea and she is almost four years old. She is part of the UK’s only free-ranging herd of reindeer, which live on the Cairngorm mountains in Scotland.

Chickpea is a friendly and curious reindeer, who loves to explore her surroundings and interact with visitors. She has a distinctive white patch on her forehead and a fluffy coat that keeps her warm in the winter. She is also expecting to give birth to her own calf in May this year, which is very exciting!

We chose Chickpea as our company mascot because we admire her spirit and personality. Her birthday (21 May 2020) fits in with our Open Spring Award Exhibition we hold each May which makes her even more special to us.  Chickpea will also inspire us to notice and care for the environment and wildlife that lives in it.

The Cairngorm Reindeer Centre is a wonderful place to visit and learn more about these amazing animals. The centre offers daily guided hill trips to see the reindeer on the mountainside, as well as a paddocks and exhibition area where you can get up close and personal with some of the reindeer.  Well worth a visit!

The Cairngorm National Park is the largest national park in the UK, spanning 1,748 square miles of stunning scenery. It is home to many other attractions and activities, such as castles, distilleries, snowsports, cycling, and walking – all food for the enthusiastic outdoor artists.
