Cumberland Close

Do we keep the name or do we re-name the Close? Or is there an alternative solution?

As a business owner and resident of Kirriemuir, I am asking my fellow citizens to please consider what the implications of a name change would be for a small business such as Ainetheon Arts Ltd. Most of you will not be impacted by a name change but we will. We operate on a non-profit basis to support local and Scottish artists by providing them with a platform to exhibit their artwork, a place to create and a facility to network with other artists. Our customers are familiar with our address. We have all of our 2024 events planned with a lot of the marketing already set up or produced. We join in with local events and societies; our address is already in their brochures. We have Open Call events that bring people into our town, benefiting the local retailers, cafes and hostelries. We take nothing from our local community and only seek to add to the growth of our town. We are not funded by grants or charitable funding. We choose to be sustainable in our own right. Please think before you choose to vote – please help us survive and grow in these difficult times.

THE FORM BELOW IS A SURVEY REGARDING THE PROPOSED PETITION TO CHANGE THE NAME FROM CUMBERLAND CLOSE TO SOMETHING ELSE. I HAVE KEPT IT BALANCED AND NEUTRAL TO ALLOW US ALL TO HAVE OUR SAY. YOU MAY ALSO VOTE ON THE ANGUS CONSULTATION IF YOU ARE A RESIDENT OF KIRRIEMUIR HERE

This Survey and Vote closes on 20th April 2024

Results will be presented to Angus Council
